Pin Foto is built around data minimization. Unless stated otherwise in this policy, route recording, photo reading, location matching, and writing location data to photos are performed locally on your device by default.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
Effective date: April 29, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Pin Foto. Pin Foto is a utility app for recording photo routes and adding location information to camera photos.
We value your privacy and the protection of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how Pin Foto handles information related to you and how you can manage that information.
Pin Foto's core functions are to save a route after you actively start recording, and then match and add location information to selected photos based on their capture time.
2. Information We Process
Location Information
When you actively start route recording, Pin Foto may access your device location with your permission to generate your route during a photo session and later match photos to their shooting locations.
This may include:
- Location data, such as latitude, longitude, and location accuracy;
- Time data, such as recording time, start time, and end time;
- Route record data, such as route points, route names, and recording status.
This information is stored locally on your device by default for route review and photo location matching. If you do not start route recording, Pin Foto will not actively record your route.
Photo Information
When you import or select photos for processing, Pin Foto reads information from the photos you select to determine capture time and match locations.
This may include:
- Photo capture time;
- Existing EXIF information;
- Camera model, lens model, and other device information;
- Existing geographic location information in the photo;
- The photo files you choose to process.
Pin Foto does not actively upload your photo content. Photo matching and location writing are performed locally on your device by default.
Writing Location Information to Photos
When you confirm a location write operation, Pin Foto uses the matching result to add location information to the photos you selected.
Depending on iOS system capabilities, photo sources, and your operation, Pin Foto may:
- Write location information to selected photos;
- Create new photo copies with location information when system limitations apply;
- Notify you when certain photos cannot be modified directly.
Pin Foto will not modify photos in bulk without your confirmation.
Network Requests
Pin Foto may use network requests for necessary functions, including:
- Loading map data;
- Loading camera brand logos or related display resources;
- Checking basic configuration or necessary app resources.
These requests may allow relevant service providers to receive necessary network information, such as IP address, device network environment, and request time. We do not use these requests to actively upload your photos, route tracks, or EXIF information.
If Pin Foto integrates new third-party services in the future, we will explain them in this policy.
Diagnostic Information
The initial version of Pin Foto does not actively collect usage behavior data, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking data by default.
If you choose to share crash information with developers through Apple's system settings, Apple may provide developers with diagnostic data related to crashes. Such data is generally used to identify crashes and improve app stability.
3. How We Use Information
We process the above information to:
- Record routes that you actively start;
- Match photos to locations based on photo capture time;
- Add location information to photos you select;
- Display routes, maps, and camera brand identifiers;
- Improve app stability and basic experience;
- Respond to feedback and support requests.
We do not use your photos, route tracks, or location information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Storage
Pin Foto stores route records, photo matching results, and related processing information locally on your device by default.
You can delete related records through app features. Uninstalling the app may also delete locally stored app data, depending on iOS and iCloud settings.
If Pin Foto provides cloud sync, account systems, or cross-device features in the future, we will update this policy before those features launch and obtain your authorization when necessary.
5. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
Except for the following situations, we do not share your photos, route tracks, or location information with third parties:
- Requests to relevant services that are necessary for map display, resource loading, or similar functions;
- Disclosure required by laws, regulations, judicial authorities, or administrative authorities;
- Sharing with your explicit authorization;
- Situations necessary to protect the legitimate rights and interests of users, developers, or the public.
6. How You Manage Your Information
You can manage related permissions and data by:
- Turning off or adjusting Pin Foto's location permission in iOS Settings;
- Turning off or adjusting Pin Foto's photo access permission in iOS Settings;
- Deleting route records in the app;
- Stopping an active route recording;
- Uninstalling the app to delete local app data;
- Contacting us through the in-app feedback entry, App Store page, or email.
If you want to access, delete, or correct information related to you, you may submit a request through the in-app feedback entry, App Store page, or email.
7. System Permissions
Location Permission
Pin Foto requests location permission to save a route after you actively start recording and to match locations to photos.
If you want route recording to continue while the screen is locked, while switching apps, or in the background, you need to allow "Always" location permission. You can turn off or adjust this permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Photo Permission
Pin Foto requests photo permission to read capture time and EXIF information from photos you select, and to add location information after your confirmation.
Pin Foto will not access or modify your photos without your selection or confirmation.
8. Camera Brand Logo Display Notice
Pin Foto may display camera brand names, logos, or other brand identifiers in the interface to help users identify the shooting device, improve photo information display, and enhance browsing experience.
The relevant trademarks, logos, brand names, and other identifiers belong to their respective rights holders. Pin Foto's use of these identifiers does not imply affiliation, partnership, authorization, sponsorship, approval, or endorsement by the relevant brands.
If a rights holder believes that any display is inappropriate, they may contact us through the in-app feedback entry, App Store page, or email. We will review and handle the matter after verification.
9. Protection of Minors
Pin Foto is not intended to provide services independently to children under the age of 14. If you are a minor, please use the app with the consent and guidance of your guardian.
If a guardian believes that we have processed a minor's personal information, they may contact us through the in-app feedback entry, App Store page, or email.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy based on product features, laws and regulations, or review requirements.
When important changes occur, we will notify you through in-app prompts, web notices, or other reasonable methods. The updated Privacy Policy will be published on this page and will indicate the update date.
11. Feedback and Rights Requests
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or personal information protection, you may contact us through the in-app feedback entry, App Store page, or email.
